How UAE Workwear Distributors Can Source Custom Industrial Uniforms

UAE distributors often carry more than one end market. A construction line, a hi-vis layer, an oil and gas coverall and a hospitality uniform can sit in the same sales team and still need four specifications. Metro Apparels keeps those as separate products so a replenishment does not blur them.

Prices for UAE buyers display in USD and are Ex-Works. Freight to Jebel Ali or a warehouse in Dubai or Abu Dhabi is a second number. The UAE supplier page is the commercial summary. This note is about how to brief the factory.

Separate the files

Send one reference per style. A khaki site coverall with knee patches is not the master for a fluorescent jacket, and neither is the master for a hotel tunic. If you use one email, label the attachments. Mixed photos produce mixed samples.

Say who the wearer is only so the pocket plan makes sense. The factory does not need a story about the project. It needs the garment, the cloth and the quantity.

Cloth and colour in a hot climate

200 GSM polycotton or cotton is a common shirt and light-coverall weight. 240–250 GSM is there when the garment takes more abrasion. Stretch cotton drills are an option when the buyer asks for movement. None of these choices is a heat-stress claim.

  • Approve fluorescent shades on the actual cloth, not on a paper chip alone.
  • Mark tape on a diagram if the jacket is hi-vis.
  • Keep contrast panels in the sample if the customer expects them.
  • Do not describe tape as a certified visibility system unless you have that component package.

Commercial habit that saves a season

Compare the 100-piece and 500-piece indicative slabs before you promise a dealer a price. If the year’s volume is real, the higher break is usually the number to negotiate around. Decoration and packing still move the quotation.

Private label is woven labels and embroidery from your artwork. Hotel crests and contractor logos are not stocked. They are made for the order.

Dealer promises and factory promises

A UAE distributor sometimes promises a contractor a two-week delivery before the cloth is even nominated. The factory cannot confirm a lead time until the specification and the sample gate are known. Quote your customer a range that you control, and keep the factory’s confirmation internal until it exists. Publishing a fixed day-count on a website would be a guess. This site does not do that.

When you do get a date, it is a production date against an approved sample, not a door-to-door promise. Add the freight method you chose. Sea freight and courier are different products. Mixing them in one sentence to a contractor is how a handover in Sialkot gets described as a late arrival in Dubai.

A quotation a UAE buyer can forward

Distributors in the UAE often have to forward a factory price to a contractor who wants one number by Friday. The useful quotation is still itemised. Show the garment Ex-Works, then show decoration, then say that freight is not included. A single blended number looks helpful and becomes an argument when the contractor later asks why the repeat is higher. If the first number was a courier to Dubai and the repeat is sea freight, the garment did not change. The lane did. Write that down the first time.

Lead time should be quoted only after the sample gate is known. A sentence such as “about a month” before the cloth and the artwork are approved is a guess, and this site does not publish a fixed day-count for that reason. Tell your contractor the steps: specification, sample, approval, bulk, handover. Add the freight method after handover. You control the promise. The factory confirms the production window against an approved sample.

Styles that share a relationship and not a spec

A UAE industrial supplier might carry a work shirt, a cargo trouser, a hi-vis vest or jacket, and a coverall for a site account. Those four can be one supplier conversation. They are four approvals. The shirt’s shade does not approve the coverall’s shade. The vest’s tape layout does not approve the jacket. If you send them together, number them. “Item 1 approved, item 2 still open” is a sentence the next buyer in your office can use.

Company colours should arrive as cuttings, not as names. “Client blue” has meant three different navies in the same season for buyers who did not keep a standard. Staple the cutting to the sample when it returns, or store both where the purchase order is raised. The reorder then cites the standard. It does not ask the factory to remember a blue from a WhatsApp photograph taken in a car park.

  • Forward an itemised Ex-Works quote, not a blended landed guess.
  • Quote your customer a range you control.
  • Number each style in a multi-item enquiry.
  • Keep company colour cuttings with the sample.
  • Book sea or courier as its own decision.

Repeat orders for accounts that add people

Site contracts in the UAE grow by headcount. The specification should not grow with them. When twenty more wearers join, the order is a quantity and a size ratio against the approved sample. It is not a chance to add a pocket the supervisor mentioned on site. Capture that pocket as a possible new style, sample it, and decide if the whole account will move. Partial adoption gives you two garments under one name.

Pack for the way the account issues kit. If a supervisor receives mixed sizes for a crew, mixed cartons can be right. If a warehouse in Jebel Ali or Dubai picks single sizes for many small clients, single-size cartons are right. Say which before the goods are packed. Changing the carton after the fact is a repack, and a repack costs more than the sentence that would have prevented it.

When the sample returns, compare it with the garment your contractor already wears, in daylight, before anyone writes “approved” on a WhatsApp thread. Approval should name the sample and the points that are still open, so a later pocket request does not hide inside a yes. If you are forwarding the price, forward the Ex-Works line and a separate note that freight is not in it. Contractors remember a single number. Giving them the garment number and the lane number, as two numbers, is how the repeat stays explainable when the courier and the sea shipment are not the same cost.

Can one order mix styles?

Yes, but each style keeps its own sample and its own price.

Do you include UAE delivery?

No. The published price is Ex-Works. Freight is quoted separately.

Can you match a current uniform?

Yes. Send it. The sample is checked against that reference before bulk.
